ECO-FRIENDLY AND CHEMICAL FREE!
We firmly believe in safeguarding both the environment and people. Because of this, we focus on using only inexpensive, environmentally friendly blast media and abrasives.
The current OSHA exposure limits for silica and beryllium concentrations are all met by all of our media. From very delicate, non-destructive varieties to strong, aggressive abrasives, we have a wide range of media.
Our blast media and abrasives can be used for a variety of projects, such as (but not limited to): automotive restoration, specialty cleaning, historic preservation, fire damage, mold remediation, masonry cleaning, graffiti removal, rust and old paint removal, AMPP finishes, soda blasting, and sand blasting.

Baking Soda
SODIUM BICARBONATE IS THE SAME, BUT DIFFERENT!
Since its beginning in the 1980s, ESCA has been engaged in soda blasting. Baking soda blast media (sodium bicarbonate), which is categorized as a soft abrasive, was first applied when the Statue of Liberty was being restored. Our baking soda formulations are specifically designed and processed for soda blasting, delivering a smooth and steady flow throughout a project. Try not to soda blast using ingredients from recipes or freezers! It will fail.
BLASTS IN NON-DESTRUCTIVE MEDIA
Because baking soda crystal is soft but sharp, baking soda blast media produces excellent results. The crystal explodes when it contacts the surface. Baking soda can remove thick coatings, paints, and heavy-duty grease thanks to this fracturing effect.
WALNUT SHELLS
MADE BY MOTHER NATURE, BUT IS STILL A NUT!
An all-natural, biodegradable, non-toxic, and landscape-safe alternative to conventional blast media is walnut shell blasting. However, we advise using a different medium if you or any of your coworkers are allergic to nuts.
MULTI-PURPOSE, PROVEN SOFT ABRASIVE
For a very long time, cleaning and blasting operations have used walnut shell blast media. Depending on your demands, this versatile medium is available in various sizes. We classify shells as "crossover" media, which implies that when used at greater pressures, they may strip paint and remove hard coatings while still being delicate enough to work safely on sensitive metals and wood building materials. The high level of durability of walnut shells makes it possible to reuse them repeatedly before they degrade.
JETMAG
ECO & OPERATOR-FRIENDLY BLAST MEDIA
Safe to use around water and in any environment because it is fully inert, completely non-toxic, and non-hazardous. OSHA/NIOSH classifies the dust as merely "nuisance" dust because it only contains 1% or less free silica. JetMag is free of the heavy/toxic metals that OSHA has linked to slags and other mineral abrasives like Black Beauty.
This media is brown in color and, depending on the containment needs for your project, may occasionally be left behind because it mixes in well with grass and dirt. In fact, due to its perfect environmental safety, it is a favored packing material (grout) for geothermal pumps.
CUSTOM PROFILES WITH LESS WASTE
You can get any profile you require with to JetMag's range of grades. This designed abrasive is produced and screened with extremely tight tolerances, removing many extra tiny and large particles that are outside of the acceptable range from its package. This allows the media valve on your equipment to remain in a more closed position, allowing you to operate more effectively, utilize less product, and produce less waste.
AN ENGINEERED, HIGH QUALITY, MILITARY-GRADE ABRASIVE
A silica-free and heavy metal-free alternative to silica sand, coal and copper slag, Black Beauty, Star Blast, and natural olivine is JetMag blast media. It satisfies or surpasses the following requirements:
CRUSHED GLASS
THE IDEAL ALL-PURPOSES ABRASIVE
100% recycled bottle glass is used in the production of our Crushed Glass blast media. Crushed bottle glass is a reliable all-purpose abrasive that has numerous advantages over conventional abrasives like coal and copper slag. It is also affordable, environmentally benign, and user-friendly. Glass from ESCA bottles performs admirably in dry-blast, dustless, and vapor equipment.
NOT TOO HARD AND NOT TOO SOFT
A semi-hard abrasive is referred to as crushed glass blast media. Many paints and varnishes can be removed by its aggressiveness. It can also be used on fragile substrates that heavier abrasives would harm, including as commercial stonework, fiberglass boat bottoms, and some types of wood.
Our greatest comparison is the breaking of a glass bottle when dropped. A bottle constructed of JETMAG, however, would just bounce off the ground. Glass will abrade the surface you are working on, but due of this "shattering" feature, you can choose how much of an impact it has. Glass can be finished in a variety of ways, from extremely light textures to paint-ready profiles. Crushed glass will produce a whiter metal finish than many other sandblasting abrasives because of its transparency.
KinetiX
THE SUPER FAST, COST EFFICIENT SUPEROXALLOY
An tailored alloy of oxide minerals called KinetiX was developed by our pals at 10x Engineered Materials through carefully monitored formulation and tempering (high heat + quick cooling). Non-crystalline (amorphous) particles are produced throughout the process, and they are resistant to breaking when subjected to high-speed mechanical impact.
WHEN SPEED & EFFICIENCY MATTER
When greater speed and less abrasive consumption may minimize cost per square foot, rework from embedment, rust bloom, and coating failure with fewer cleanup and disposal expenses, KinetiX Superoxalloy Blast Media is the ideal replacement for garnet and nickel slag!
